Anyone used Checkinncard? Another vendor told me about it this past weekend and said it has saved her a lot of money. Just curious if any of you have used it?

Thanks but I joined before you posted. I do have a question. How do you get a quote for more than one person? Mine is showing all quotes for one person in a room. Also, how do you change your credit card for the room charges? I put the fee to join on a card I would not want to use to pay for the rooms. I will offer the same as Paula, I now have the free code also. If anyone wants it just let one of us know.

I received MY Chicken Card (I mean Checkinncard) the other day and I misplaced it. So, I need one for my wife also? I just want one for myself, my wife can sleep in the car.
I'm going to try it for Sep 19-20, when I do Mike Knapp's show in Cambria. I need to cut expenses any way I can for that one. I searched for motels and came up with three - one of them was the Vagabond Motel over in SLO, near the Madonna Inn. They quoted a rate of something like $42.00 per night. So, how do I book the room. How soon in advance can I make reservations. Somehow, I am getting the impression that you have to book within a few days of when you want the room.
I am kind of confused because their website doesn' really provide you with a means of making a reservation. HELLLLPPPP. I thought I saw something someplace where they have a 'service fee' of $7.95
I did check Vagabond Inn's rooms and they were quoting prices in excess of $112.00.

Dave, I have not used the card yet but from reading Paulas post: 1. Yep, your wife needs a card.... if you don't get her one, she gets the room.... YOU get the car. 2. Call the hotel and get the 2 peson rate and make the reservation directly with them. 3. They will add $7.95 per day, to the room price as their "fee" 4. FIND THAT CARD..... your credit card that you registered is tied to it..... that is the card the motel will use to pay for your room when you check in.
Paula - if I am wrong please feel free to correct me.

That's wonderful, Paula. Will order a new card for me and get one for my wife. You have been so helpful and we all need to save $$$ whenever possible. I intend on using the card for my Sept 19-20 show down south in Cambria. Usually stayed at Motel 6 in Atascadero, which had cheaper rates than Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo, but Mark said he found bed bugs there and that's the end of that motel for me (I hope). Once again and thank you very much for providing loads of info for everybody on the forum. You have been a great help.

Didn't locate my Check-Inn Card so I ordered a new one and ordered one for the wife.
I thought that I had a show for this weekend in San Jose, but they claim that they never received my application, which I mailed from Oregon. The check was not cashed and they say that they are filled up.
I am thinking about doing an event in Grover Beach, about 230 miles south of here and decided to check on the motels within 30 miles. Motel 6's are expensive with rates around $90 a night over the weekend.
I decided to check up on some Checkinn Card rates and popped up a number of motels in the area.
Motel 6, Pismo Beach. Called them and they said they had never heard of Checkinn Card.
Vagabond Inn, San Luis Obispo. They quoted me a rate of $90 for Sat; $95 for Sun. She then asked me if I was a AAA member and she then gave me rates of $71 and $73.
So much for Checkinn Card this trip. Need a rate under $70. Another Bad Hair Day.

Dave, I would contact Check Inn Card and tell them what happened. I looked at the hotels there and Motel 6 says $40.31 - $52.31 and Vagabond says $42.48. Did you check the others that are listed? I thought they had to honor the prices that are on the site. Keep us posted on what Check Inn Card says.....
Found this on the site: Hotel Check-In Support Tel: 1.866.857.9747, Option 3 Hours: 24x7x365 Fee: None

Thanks. I'll give them a call in a little while. You know it might have something to do with the catch phrase 'availability.' I'm surprised that the Motel 6 in Pismo said that they had never heard of Check-Inn Card. (I am pis-sed) I'll come up with something....the first cockroach motel that comes up with a price of $70 including tax will get my business.

Staying at Vagabond in SLO. I had printed out my CHECKINN CARD vouchers (didn't have my cards) and showed them to the guy and they wouldn't accept them. Said I needed the actual card. Had to pay the $71/$73 instead of the $42 as advertised with the card. I ordered a new card for myself and one for my wife earlier this week. Actually, this is a nice motel. On Madonna Drive, just around the corner from the famous Madonna Inn. The rooms are set back from the road and hopefully, we won't hear too many cars passing by. However. we are on the first floor and I do hear a bunch of horses up above.
Decent sized room. A couple of chairs and a table. Queen-sized bed and a larger TV than Motel 6. Microwave and a refrigerator. This would be one hell of a deal for $42 a night. Maybe call the 800-number tomorrow and tell them these morons wouldn't accept the voucher.
There is a Denny's in front of the motel and an IHOP next door. McDonald's and a bunch of other fast foods nearby. Probably won't be eating around here though, planning for Sizzler in Arroyo Grande tomorrow night or Hometown Buffet, just down this street. I'd love to go over to the restaurant at Madonna Inn and grab a steak, but we aren't going to make enough to justify paying that much for a cow.
I am planning on staying here when I do Cambria in a few weeks. Morro Bay is out of the que$tion and I have been staying at Bedbug 6 Motel in Atasadero or previously Motel 6 in San Luis Obispo, about a mile away from here. This motel is about 23 miles from Cambria and if I can swing that $42 rate, it'll be well worth it. Nothing else around here for the Checkinn Card. Will probably be staying here from now on instead of Atascadero.

Oh I would be calling as soon as I could. The site said the voucher would be acceptable until the card comes.

THE ANT PARADE. I woke up early this morning around 5:30, which seems to be a regular thing with me. Walked over to the chair in my darkened room and turned on my computer. Shortly after it lit up, I saw a bunch of ants running around my screen. Oh my gosh, this motel (Vagabond Inn) must be infested with ants. Now I know why the rates were rather cheap to begin with. Well, my friend had bedbugs in his Motel (Motel 6 - Atascadero). Yes, the motel with a true meaning. The saying 'Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite' is correctamundo. How about this one....... Vagabond Inn, the place where your ant (aunt) stays for free? I just hope I never run into 'Roach Motel.' My wife is still sleeping and I don't want to inform her of the good news. You know, if I tell her, then she'll start itching, thinking that the ants are in the bed. Just a reaction, know what I mean.
Every once in awhile an ant will pop up in the middle of the screen out of nowhere (and it's not some kind of screensaver or pop-up either).
Okay world. Vagabond Inn (San Luis Obispo) has ants, Vagabond has ants, Vagabond has ants!!!

Breaking News - Antsociated Press - Aug 30, 2009
Government Unveils Alien Technology
The White House released previously classified documents, describing alien technology that has been hidden away at Area 51 in the Nevada desert for decades. With the release of the documents, the White House also described a partnership with America's Best Franchising, parent company of Country Hearth Inns & Suites, America’s Best Inns & Suites, Budgetel Inns & Suites, Vagabond Inns, and 3 Palms Hotels & Resorts.
There are reports of computer ant invasions occurring at Vagabond Inns, throughout California. This prompted White House aide, Ants Mound, to declare, "The time has come to notify the public of impending wide-scale changes that will affect all of our lives."
Mound described the first technology release as "DigiAnt". DigiAnt is an amazing technology that transforms simple digital ant images into reality. Unwitting Vagabond Inn guests awoke to the unexpected DigiAnts, strolling around their computer monitors. Mound said that the DigiAnts would not have a trail leading to the monitors. This distinguishes DigiAnts from common ants that create orderly ant trails.
A group headed by antivist, Ant Sharpton forced Congress into an unprecedented and historically swift passing of new legislation, The DigiAnt Protection Act. Sharpton described the DigiAnts as "our new, little members of society who have been abused and imprisoned by ruthless computer users".
This new legislation provides severe penalties for disturbing the DigiAnts as they go about their DigiBusiness. It is unlawful to crush, spray, drown, burn, flick or perform any other harmful acts on DigiAnts. All abusers will be instantaneously reported to the DigiAuthorities by the DigiAnt Communication Network, which is based on the same alien technology and is very sophisticated. Penalties were not announced with the legislation, but an unidentified scientist is rumored to have mentioned that the technology that brought us DigiAnts can be used in reverse mode.
Earlier today, President Antbama declared, August 30, to be a new national holiday, hailing it as "a day to be remembered for all time". It will be forever referred to as Ant-Dave Day, dedicated to the first reported human contact with the DigiAnts.
More to come as this breaking news develops.

And I just thought Dave was going to start selling ant farms and these were his first farmers..... shows how much I know. Maybe the DigiAnts are going to homestead the farms? You know, free housing, free food, government grants.....
