What is still surprising me is that so many "crafters" have no idea about this. It has been on TV, radio and in the newspapers...... I don't buy it that they have not heard of it... Plus if they have done any shows it is talked about there...... They are going to enforce it and when they do there is going to be some mighty unhappy people claiming they did not know. This is really a sore spot with me, I have a husband, 2 sons, 2 dogs, inlaws I take care of, a school I volunteer at, and I make all of my items for the shows and still make the time to know what is going on with this act...... it is my responsibility to know about my products..... As a matter of fact I now do not sell any children's items........ it was easier for me to change my product than worry about what law I might be breaking. I could not believe the number of vendors that had all childrens products yesterday and had no idea about this..... My feelings are that they do know........ they just do not want to admit it! Ok, off my soap box........ it is one of those 100 degree days here again and I am not a happy camper, where is fall at?

Yeah that is the final draft that was signed although there is still a stay put on certain items until Feb of 2010. I am hoping that someone will figure it out by then.

Oh did you read this part. Part E talking about the impact of the law on small business.
"Based on the foregoing assessment, the Commission certifies that the rule would not have significant impact on a substantial number of small entities. "
SAY WHAT??? According to whom??? I can't even sew a button on a skirt and it does not impact me. Are you people nuts?
Oh and know not only are they going after us they are going after candle makers because a wick with metal "might" float around in the air and land on something that baby puts in their mouth. Are we all high?
Oh I really love the part that states there really is no testing done to indicate if zippers and buttons have anything even in them. How does this crap get passed . I am so fired up right now!

Yeah I have a stay on the lead content stuff. I have switched to some vendors that only carry those products. I have to faze the other stuff out. The thing is that the lead level count changes every year so one year my stuff could be ok and the next year it could not be ok.

This is why I got rid of all my kids products. Still waiting to see what the resellers have to say about this..... This is going to make a huge difference in what they are able to carry as of February of 2010. Have any of you resellers gotten rid of your kids items? Worried about the new law? Will it hurt your business?
