I just got a quote of $230.00 a year from this agent at YvnBail@aol.com. You might want to email her and see what she can do for you. I also have a quote from State Farm for $28.00 a month... Decisions......

Those are very reasonable rates Susie is quoting you. Shouldn't have to pay much more than $350. I'll provide you with some links to other companies when I get a chance. Mark has a good company for his. As for myself, I can use my homeowner's policy and it has worked fine for many years. Check out yours.

I just got a quote of $230.00 a year from this agent at YvnBail@aol.com. Hi Susie, Thanks for posting the info, but could you elaborate a little more? What company(ies) are they an agent for? Is there a website? Are they setup like the $350 policy where everyone is grouped 9/1 to 8/31? Do they have an address and phone number listing? I like to research a company or agent a bit before firing off an email. Too many "affiliate" type operations where you don't really know what you are getting into, which is basically a "time-waster" if you use appropriate due diligence after making contact. I've looked at all of the listings that Dave provided and I am still waiting on a quote from my homeowner's agent. It seems that Specialty may be the best deal. It appears to be the other one that you quoted and the one that Mark is using. I probably would have already signed with Specialty, but I'm doing a show that requires insurance on 8/22 and their policy starts on 9/1 --- and I have an issue with paying for 3 months just to cover 2 days... Most likely will have to unless I find a good per show rate.

I do know that it is the date you take the policy until a year from that date. With no deductibles and free certificates. I am sure they are all good companies, you just need to find that one that matches what you need. Personally, I have a problem with furnishing insurance but what do you do? Susie

Hi Susie,I don't like furnishing insurance like you ,but if a show you want to do requires it then you much supply it and if you have to buy just for one weekend, the cost is like $100.its better to pay for a whole year and your protected at every show.$230 seems pretty cheap several years back i was quoted $800 a year.

Mark, I agree..... I have looked at insurance prices for the past year and the $230.00 is by far, the best price I have seen. It seems like more and more shows are requiring it so you do what you have to do. I asked one promoter why all the need for insurance and was told we can thank the man down south who drove through the street fair and killed those people...... But....... what I do think is unfair is when a vendor has insurance and still has to pay for the insurance the promoter has. A good example of this was the Poppy Festival in Lancaster!
Have A Great Day! Susie

Regarding Certs. What do you do? Call and add the name of the venue you are aplying for, they send your the paper with their name as loss payee from (X) date to (X) date, and turn it in? The signs I sell are heavy and I always have a concern that the box will give and dump a hundred ounds of metal on someones feet. I have been buying oer show that asks for it, but 230 would be alot better for the year & I wouldn't have to scrounge for it.
