I have five grids on each side, attached to the frame on top and to the legs at each corner. Adds about 100 lbs for each side.
That's nothing unusual, but the "weight" that I will be using on the windy side might be a bit different.
Two, 2-drawer file cabinets provide a dual purpose. My prints are sorted and easily accessible in one (they take up two full drawers) and the other provides storage/display space. I have them strapped to the leg and grid. Provides an additional 80-180lbs for each leg.
I'm still working on what else I may use on the other side. No more file cabinets - two is more than enough extra weight to haul around. But I have to have at least one because it is absolutely the best way to keep my prints in order and easy to get to. And the second one just seemed like a good idea after experiencing the wind at the last event.

hello all, first post here...
I had a stack of old case books from law school. I went to walmart and bought 4 of the recycle bags they sell for $1.00 each and filled them with case books, tied the handles together at the top and use bungees to attach them to the canopy. each bag weighs about 30 pounds and holds down the canopy very nicely. Finally a real use for law books.

HI Stretch. Welcome to the board! Too funny! A kind word to all. I've seen a lady's eye nearly riped out at the OC Market place when she used bungie cords to hold down her awning. A gust of wind whipped in & stretched the cord and the hook simply let loose. It flew back and caught her on the left eye! The ambulance had to take her away! I was little, but I remember it VIVIDLY! I try to be as liability conscience as possile in a day and age that many people sit around and wait for an opportunity to cash in on life's lottery.

Stretch - My hubby threw out his old law school books years ago, too bad I wasn't doing art/crafts shows then! Too funny. I bought round weights for barbells, use a 25# and a 10# one for each corner. They lean up against the canopy legs and we attach them to the top of the canopy frame with ropes. It's nice because they don't take up much room, and store easily in the car on the way to/from the shows, and in the garage. The 35 lbs. seems for each corner seems to be enough weight to make a difference. Laura
