So for the first time this year I was able to get into a venue that is a 4 month long craft show. It is a huge thing with people and very hard to get into. Some people basically do this show only and nothing else all year long because it is so good. So I applied and was told by the "person in charge" that I could only have Sept 1 though the first weekend in October. I was lucky to be able to get another ranch in the area for the rest October. Now that I am there I am hearing from the other vendors that I could have had a space for the whole season but that the person running it is trying to "put me through my paces". I am the youngest person there and have a pretty fresh and youthful booth. There are no other children's things in the fair. Lots of old timer type stuff and crafts and art. One of the owners wives came in and shopped my booth yesterday and said how great it was. Makes me a little mad to be small towned. Everyone up there is pretty clicky with each other and have sold up there for years. Not many new vendors.

"Small towned" BOY. That is a perfect term! I've been through it myself. I had the largest rolling stock of metal signs in the upper NW, went to a mall in ND, CASH IN HAND... to set up for 3 weeks before Christmas, & was told, "Sorry, we have a no competition clause. We already have someone selling signs." It didn't matter that the cut off date had passed and the guy hadn't reserved his space yet... I went in later to see what he had, when he finally set up and sold. What did it consist of. 20 Metal signs in a box from a single company, along with his home made furniture. What a crock.
