Hello, I'm a leathercraftsman from Maine and I'm looking for shows to book this winter. I make hand cut, handtooled leather belts, knife sheaths, dog leashes and other quality crafted items. Also some seaglass jewelry. Any suggestions?

Hello, I'm a leathercraftsman from Maine and I'm looking for shows to book this winter. I make hand cut, handtooled leather belts, knife sheaths, dog leashes and other quality crafted items. Also some seaglass jewelry. Any suggestions? Hi Genevieve. Welcome to our board. Are you going to be a 'snow bird?' My wife and I live in California and sell at Tyson Wells in Arizona in January. It's okay for us and we enjoy the weather since it does rain where we live at during that time of year. We do the Sell-a-Rama in mid-Jan and then the A&C Show there. There are a number of events in Arizona in places like Yuma, Phoenix, Lake Havasu, etc. Do you subscribe to Craftmaster News? (craftmasternews.com) Excellent publication that lists events all over the West. Where in Maine do you live? I spent the first 12 years of my life in Holyoke, MA and have visited relatives back East in MA and NJ a number of times. Have taken several trips up into Maine and have stopped by Beal's Lobster in Bar Harbor. We've also ordered their Lobster overnight delivery.

Hi, thanks for your response! Funny you should mention lobster, that's my day job. We live in Blue Hill (about 45 minutes from Bar Harbor) and I lobster out of Deer Isle Stonington. Unfortunately our fishery is going through some tough times right now so I'm well on my way to becoming a snowbird. Tried Florida last year but it wasn't really my style, I love the Southwest & California so hopefully we can find something to keep us occupied out there. I've been through Quartzsite before but it was 5-6 years ago and as things were winding down. I originally was thinking of the Tyson-Wells shows but after reading your reviews it might not be the thing for me. I've found it's not terribly hard to sell a good leather belt, but it's not a 5 dollar item either. We'll see, I haven't booked anything yet so I'm just kinda winging it here. Seeing what's out there and what other people with more knowledge of the area have for ideas. I'm interested in anything, anywhere warm.
