Let me first say, the space rent for this show went to Make A Wish so I am ok that the sales were bad. I did make my space rent but that about sums it up. Talked to many vendors who are doing the few shows they have already paid for and then calling it quits. I think it was Dave that said the groups are wanting to jump on the craft show bandwagon as a way they think they can make fast money... Well, they were out in force passing out fliers and they were not cheap shows... One first year show (in a very bad location) was charging 25%... NO WAY! As a matter of fact I am done with Bakersfield shows... I have a 3 day already paid for at the National Hot Rods the end of the month but if I had not already paid for it I would not go... sales are really bad here. I am not ready to give up the shows but I am being very picky of what shows I will be doing this year... I would much rather be home with my family than spend a weekend just breaking even. Would be nice if the promoters realized that they are going to not have the vendors if they keep raising the price of the events.... Anyway, as I said I am not unhappy with this weekend, the weather was beautiful and the money went to help kids.....
