as i mention before the host of Colorado Springs suggest me to add sunglass to my line to make sure i can make a living in Colorado Springs. i am learning and studying the potential customers on sunglass. but there are a lot of them. i do aware these are not arts & crafts items. but culturally everyone need a few pair of sunglass. one pair in the car, different color or style to match their outfit etc,...... setting a correct selling price are very important. i see my neighbour selling $10 ok at farmer market but when he go to swap meet where some other vendors sell for $5 and he is not making a living on sunglass alone. i do not want to give it away but if price point is too high, then not much business? a lot of people are onto brand name sunglass, the only thing a no brand sunglass to compete with the brand name one is price! i hear that a lot of people are go for the movie star look sunglass. who are the potential customer for sunglass in the farmer market? there are many style, color, size, material, on sunglass, much to choose, still not sure what to choose to sell in farmer market yet. any suggestion?

You are going to face a lot of competition selling sunglasses. There are quite a few people selling them for $5 each.
When I was at the Coos County Fair last July, I had somebody selling sunglasses next to me for $10. There was another person across from me selling sunglasses for $5. Almost the same thing. I walked over to my neighbor and I was going to buy one of his $10 sunglasses, but he told me to go across the aisle and buy the other guy's for $5. That is what I did. Felt bad about it, but that's what the guy told me to do.
Funny thing. Had sunshine during the daytime and the guy next to me would sell very few. He sold a lot of them ($10) after it got dark. Can you believe that? Actually, I have sold parasols before and people buy them at night.
Anyway, if you sell at swap meets and fairs, you might expect to sell them for $5.00. Got a lot of people selling the sunglasses nowadays because they are easy to get. You'll have to babysit these people because they get their fingerprints on them and they pass them around to one another and just toss them on your table. Good luck.

thank you ( davejs ) for your input.
i do aware a lot of people selling sunglass in flea market for $5 and i do aware some vendors sell for $10. all sunglass basically look the same only very little difference. only there are cheaper sunglass which wholesale for $1 or even $0.5 and there are sunglass wholesale for $2.5 or even $2.75 a piece. depend new styles, materials, and target customers.
some target customers are more comfortable with the cheapest stuff, some have more knowledge will choose a better quality one depend on the crowd.
sometime, there are no different in the quality at all, just a matter of how much money you want to make and need to make with different vendors.
i need sunglass to guarantee a steady income for a day work as beads and jewelries sales has up and down! i am still selling my beads, handmade jewelries.
i am also interested to see if customers will pay for more for me to custom decorate their sunglass?

My opinion... Sunglasses are everywhere. That is one of those wonderful items that anyone can walk into the Dollar Store and get.... As far as decorating them, personally I do not want anything on my glasses. I want them to be light on my face and not draw attention. Just my opinion.

Just my .02... I used to merchandse for Foster Grant at Rite Aid Stores and had to work the sunglasses For 4 Pilot Travel Centers in Southern California. If there was one thing in life that would cause me headaches was those sunglasses. Extremely HIGH theft (in the stores) damages from carelessness, and scratches on the lenses are the main reason you 4X your money on them. You have to constantly clean them to keep them looking nice. I had to try to explain to the company why I couldn't credit out sunglasses that were returned to them that WEREN'T MINE, and had been switched, etc. It was the dreaded part of my job. & I've seen the "last years" 14.99 Foster Grant sunglasses at the .99 cent only store! If you happen to sell the same glasses that someone else was selling, & they broke, 99% of the time, the customer is coming back to the first person who will exchange them, REGARDLESS of who sold it to them. They believe you will just turn them in for new ones, without thinking of the cost to you to freight it back to the manufacturer. I understand you need to do what you can to stay afloat, so not trying to talk you out of it. Just telling you my experiance with them.

i do aware sunglasses are everywhere. jewelries are everywhere too. 99cents, walmart start to sell some junky semi precious stone jewelries now. they are mass produced and the stone are of no quality. they sell semi precious stone jewelry for $5 to $7.
thank your opinion Susie, Davejs!
i want to decorate on the frame not on the lens, the decoration are on where the brand name sunglasses have their brand name on, the edge nearest to the shade where you fold your frame.
