I did a "Tractor show" (that is how it is written in the book) this past week and I went [glow=red,2,300]severely[/glow] in the hole! First off, I was given directions that would scare you! It took SEVEN hours to go 225 miles, because every 100 feet was a new town and a 30 MPH speed limit. SO, shortest distance, does not = fastest! We were almost there and my husband started to holler and threw on the Jake brake. We sat and stared at a bridge with a 14'1" clearance. We are nearly 14' tall. We held our breath and crept under. Nothing scraped off! I am beginning to get the feeling that it is NOTHING like what I've encountered in CA, AZ, NV, etc. This show was nothing more than people pulling in with trailer loads of.. well... junk (not antiques or treasures!) to barter. The wind made it impossible to set up much on the first day, and no awning. (not their fault) but it was nothing like it had been made out to be. Not 70 Vendors. More like 20. The show was over by noon (not 4). There was a single building of antique toys, tee shirts etc. that was nice, but they sat on their butt as well! 3/4 of the way home we stopped and fueled. $150.00 later we were feeling the pain of not knowing the area in advance! I ~MIGHT~ have made enough to pay for the fuel. There is supposed to be a huge one next week. The biggest in the state. EVERYONE'S going.... I have my doubts!
