I thought I would make a seperate section for this show. Of the 30 or so inside vendors, 98% of them were new and only stopped here on their way to Minot ND for the State Fair. The Fair grounds had bad blood between them and the newspapers, and they were not hardly even mentioned or advertised. They closed us up at 8, and it was a dismal bomb! The fair sandwiches 2 others, and a highly publicized street fair cuts off a whole weekend with free stuff to do. The building was NOT air conditioned and on 2 days got up past 90. We all sweltered. NO ONE bought much of anything from ANY of the vendors! The vendors came in from AZ. SC, CO, CA, MN, TX & WA, with good quality items, but the fair didn't monitor the vendors, so there were 3 cookware companies and 2 physical therapists doing massages. The fair board are not vendor loyal, and let the 2 cookware people in, when the other guy had been there 32 years! When he said that he was upset that they did that to him they shrugged and said, "if you don't like it, don't come back!" He felt pretty betrayed. I will not be going back next year. the 250.00 space fee and 65.00 rv parking fee was hardly recovered..... in 11 days!!! It is my understanding that if you want to get into a fair up here, you pay the money and go to the state fair in Minot. (350.00 I believe they said, and there is a waiting list.) Air force base is up there and there are bored military personelle that go there. That's my .02. on the show.
