What's up. Anybody doing Mike's Lone Pine Show. If you are a betting man, the over and under on the number of vendor's is 6.

I'll be at Santa Clara County Fair. They are Aug. 5,6,7, & 8. The spaces are really cheap, since the fair is trying to get back on it's feet. I think they are charging between $50 and $150 for arts & crafts vendors, and about the same for commercial. I was there last year and did really well. They still have a carnival and 4H livestock, some live music, etc. They are super nice people and work WITH the vendors and will probably let you get a space at the last minute. No big deal to them.

I'll be at the Martinez Peddler's Fair for one day on Saturday. Not expecting a lot in this one.

I did the Martinez Peddler's Faire on Saturday. Five blocks long and booths one block deep on 4 side streets left and right. Booths were only set up on one side of each street. A Peddler's Faire. Nothing more than that with at least 80 percent of the vendor's selling antiques and glorified junk. Promoter's did a good job with the event and I encountered no problems and I have no complaints. I never expected to make very much here, but with the smaller traffic flow than on Main Street, I did good in my 'dollar to customer' ratio. Matter of fact, I did exactly what I thought I would do..... right down to the dollar. Weather was nice with an occasional 'hat blowing off the rack' gust or two. Recognized 3 or 4 other merchandise vendors that I have seen at shows during the past several weeks. According to some people, crowds were down from past year's. If I were on Main Street, I think that my sales would be at least 50 percent more. I decided to do this event on Monday, so I did not get a great spot. No big deal. This is just a filler show. I almost did the Italian Festival in Sacramento. I heard it was decent. I was worried about the weather. I do not like 100-degree temperatures that are so familiar this time of year. Heard that it was only around 80-85 degrees there. Temps can get high in Martinez, but as we all know, we have been having a very cool summer. Not complaining about that. Go ahead and read my review on the show. www.starvingvendors.com/events_Martinez_Peddlers_Faire_August_2010.html[

Just Finished the Carmel Valley Fiesta.........People here have money there just to cheap to spend it. cheap items sell here.....$5-$20. I don't fit in that category so i did poorly.there were 3 vendors in a row selling jewelry i had one on each side of me....one left Sat.nite and didn't return on sunday and then other had cheap stuff so she did ok and i can't compete with cheap....
