I had a one instance that ticked me off pretty badly at the last show. Why do people think they can lie, or by misunderstanding or expectation in their own mind, muscle you into giving your stock away? 14+ hour events, I would usually switch off with my husband, and give him a break, or help him to close the stand at 10PM. So, I had a group of about 5 people come in about 9PM and ask me how much a parking sign was. I tell them 14.00. Then they asked how much the round signs were... 11 bucks, or 2 for 20. then they proceed to tell me that the guy that was here earlier told them that they could have ~the parking signs~ 2 for 20. When I tried to explain the smaller signs were that price, but not the parking signs, they became beligerant and rudely tried to insist that ~I~ give them this deal. Then try to tell me they were going to make this ~huge~ sale, ~if~ I agree to give them those 2 parking signs for 20. Finally, the only way to get them to stop hounding me, is tell them the "other guy" was just on a break and would be back in a little bit and they could talk with him about this "special" ~he~ promised them. They suddenly changed their tune, grumbled and griped as they quickly walked out "he wont remember the price he told us we could have it for"... As soon as my husband came back, I told him, and as I expected, he told NO ONE that he would give them the 2 parking signs at that price. ( which would have netted us a whopping few dollars had we sold them tha cheap!) Takes all kinds... But I can do without ...those... kinds!!
