We did Mike Knapp's Casa de Fruita Easter show. We sell quite a number of different items and we happened to have selection of small knives on the table in the front part of our booth. I had gone to the bathroom and my wife was taking care of the customers. (had to wait for a tour bus to leave because when they stop, everybody heads for the bathroom)
A Mexican couple came over to our booth and the guy was looking at the knives. His wife was beside him. These knives were going for $10.00 and he wanted it for seven dollars. My wife looked at him and said "No way, Jose." He quickily looked at my wife. His wife's eyes grew wide open. "How did you know my name" he asked my wife. The guy's wife got pissed, she was furious. She said something to him in Spanish. My wife then explained to him that it was only an expression. They left my booth, both arguing. No sale.
My wife told me about it when I came back and we both laughed over it. I told her that she should have said someting like "Don't you remember last Saturay" or someting like that. Or if I was there, the possibilities were endless. I could have played along with her.

I was hoping that 'Jose' would drop by this past weekend in Casa de Fruta, but he didn't.
Had a lady come over to my booth and point to one of my 'rolling shopping carts.' She asks "How much is number 12?" I looked at her and said "uhh.... (should have said duhhhh) that's 12 dollars." Oh gosh...... that's about how the whole weekend went there. Well, maybe she thought it was 12 pesos, so I'll cut her some slack on it.

Jose might not be able to make it there anymore...... I bet he will never be at your booth again ever. (at least if he is a smart man)

LOL! RE: Jose. That is a great story! I love those misunderstood prices. the "I would have bought that for 9.00!" usually gets me to say. "ya at that price, I'd buy all I could get!!"
