I saw these questions/comments on another board and wondered what your feelings on them are? They really do make you think....
1) Since we're all struggling with this economy why aren't promoters temporarily reducing booth prices? When you're paying 600+ for a booth and this year they've cut many of the customer, artist and advertising services WHY haven't they reduced our booth fees as well? Corporate greed! Just get our $ into their pockets or their local community and who cares about us - the people that make the event SOMETHING
2) Jury Fees - where does this revenue go? If 700 artists are applying for only 119 spaces at $30 per person that's $17,430 extra - where does it go? And that's a small show - how about the venues where 1000's apply? If certain shows have a political agenda with local artists that are kind of "tenured" and they only anticipate 10 openings across mediums then say that and don't collect and collect $ on ZAPP
