There are a couple events put on by these people: www.countryfolkart.com/They have one coming up in Turlock and I do believe that they have another in Pleasanton around March next year. I looked at the Craftmaster Review of this event in Turlock and it goes along pretty much with what I heard about the one in Pleasanton. People told me that one was absolutely horrible. I had a friend in Arizona tell me about it back in January and I am glad I didn't do it. Nobody made any money there and they didn't have a whole lot of vendors. And the real A$$kicker is that they event charged the vendors $10 for parking (each day). So, if that guy said all that about the Turlock show, believe me. he is telling the truth. I just wish that other vendors would put in their reviews so we can get our 2 cents out of it, ya know. So, the moral of the story is to stay the heck away from these 'County Folk Art Shows.' Sounds nice, huh. I'd love to do those two shows on those weekends, but no way, Jose. (BTW there was no 'Jose' at Casa de Fruta this past July.... at least 'that Jose'.. There were lots of Jose's there, Pedro's, Miguel's, etc. but not the right one. I did 2 of the Country Folk Art shows in 2009. Pleasanton and Auburn. The most exciting thing that happened during both shows is that it snowed on the last day of the Auburn show. And because we vendors had nothing else to do, we all stood in front of the doors and just gawked at it. (okay, I admit, I actually went outside and stood in it, I was bored!) Back in the day, I have heard this was a fantastic show. No more. They have changed the Auburn show to Watonville and I heard rumors that Pleasanton may not even go this spring. Something about na issue with the fairgrounds. I could not believe that they were charging $10 to park and $6 to get into the show. I would say that at both shows, there were only 45 vendors. (There used to be hundreds!) I will not return. One of my close friends did Turlock and I think it's even worse. Don't waste your time and money!

Every bad thing you heard about Country Folk Art shows in Turlock and Pleasanton are true. They give a discount for your first show and the price is somewhat reasonable. But the regular price for a space is way too high. A number of people told me that the Pleasanton show was disastrous for them and they are pretty disgusted at the $11 parking fee for vendors which is unnecessary. You are paying all that money for the space and you have to pay quite a bit to park your car. I heard also the the more recent show in Turlock was pretty bad also.
