Please continue this thread to explain your problems with UPS, which I am sure that anybody that orders online has at one time or another.

My biggest problem with UPS...... they leave packages on my porch! I did not like having my laptop laying out there all day.......... They say you can call and have the delivery held for you to pick up... well, where is the phone number? They are not my favorite delivery service.... BUT they do beat the post office here, my carrier throws the packages down (yes, I have heard it from inside the house)!!!

My biggest problem? they drop my packages at the back door IN 3 FEET OF SNOW AND ICE! A few of my items I buy, would be absolutely unsellable and ruined if the packaging gets soggy and warped. The worst one was 15 large packages, I believe (had I bought them for full wholesale price) would have valued near$7,500.00! I've had the companies leave UPS notes ON THE BOX to bring them inside the back door and drop them inside the store, but they ignore it. (& the door is left unlocked for them.) Susein. What I have to do is get a UPS tracking number EVERY TIME from the company shipping it. Then go to UPS.COM and keep track of it. Then start watching for them on the day it is to arrive and grab them when they try to do the drop & run. ( Right now I have 3 deliveries all on the 14th due in. I will be perched like a vulture waiting for them!)

This is my luck! I have a tractior show to do & I am headed to MN tonight, to set up and be ready by 7:00 AM. I ordered a ton of stock, and the 4 companies got it all out in time, but I knew it would be close. Been tracking through UPS and the 6 most important boxes are due in today. (Nearly a thousand dollars in stock!) UPS is usually here by 10:00 AM. It is now 2:20 PM. Are they here??? NOPE! Not only that, but somehow one of the boxes got seperated from the rest and was sitting in Nebraska this morning, so that one has been rescheduled to be delivered tomorrow. TOO LATE FOR ME! I am holding my breath that he doesn't decide to hold off on all 6 boxes until tomorrow. SO, here I sit...

5:21 PM he showed up! I flew out the back door like a woman posessed! He looked so surprised at me. (Was funny!!!) Almost out of here. I hate to drive at night. The Deer are pretty thick out. At least it's mainly I-94 and I-29. But 75 miles to Fargo and 150 miles S. to MN is going to be a long drive! I just pray that I do good! Will keep you posted!

I have had many problems with UPS. For several years I had great service when this guy named 'Dave' had my route. My deliveries were always at 10:50am and that was fine. They changed the driver's routes and suddenly my deliveries would come around 6:30pm. I would have to wait all day for my package(s) and there were a lot of times that they would not arrive according to schedule. So, I would have to call them up around 7:00pm and then would be told that they would be delivered the next day, of course,
One time I was waiting for a very important shipment of 23 boxes of shoulder bags from Los Angeles. Was supposed to be delivered on a Wednesday and I had a big show that weekend and needed them for it. No delivery. I called up and was given a big run-around as they told me that some boxes were damaged in shipment and they were holding it up. I finally got my delivery on Friday and saw that there were many boxes torn apart. You know, these are those cheap Chinese boxes, but it looked like they were totally mishandled and ripped apart. I was so mad.
I have had many problems with UPS and I am not satisfied with them.
Back then I was getting things from numerous suppliers down in LA. So I decided to take trips down there to pick up my things from 2-3 of them and that worked fine. I would eave Hayward at 3:00 am. Get to LA at 9:00 and go to my suppliers and load up with 10-15 boxes from each of them. My van would be totally packed. I would leave there by 1:00pm and get home right around 7:00pm. That's when gas was cheaper and cost me around $85 round trip (720 miles). I saved quite a bit of money doing this.

Last year I was having a shipment from Florida and it was running late. I checked the status and saw that the day before it had arrived here in the Bay Area and it was sitting in San Pablo (20 miles from me). I called up and was told by the guy that they were having bad weather and my shipment was delayed. Yah, right. Our weather was really nice. Sunny with temps in the 60s during that time period. Their tracking information was really showing that it had been sitting in San Pablo the day before I spoke to the guy. LIAR! LIAR! PANTS ON FIRE!!!!

I just got some unintentional "revenge" on UPS in the way of multi shipments arriving nearly every day of the week, last week. I believe there was 60+ cases of stock, from 5 companies and he was here, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday AND Thursday. Since I am rural, it was a drive for him to get here. I was actually surprised it all got here before the 4th of July! Now I am as ready as I can get for the Fargo Fair!
