I never even received a application for this event Dave had to email me one you would think they want vendors that had done it as long as i had?i sent my application is 7 weeks ago and today i get a form letter sorry your product is not suitable in nature for this event?wtf do they mean ?all my products are made by me and i do 35 events + a year and this is the 1st this year turning me down after 5 years, this person running this event doesn't have a clue. its not a big deal since this show has gone down hill in the past few years and i doubt this year i would make much money there ,only problem is they sent this 3 weeks before the event and now i am stuck taking any event i can find in such short time .thanks for nothing and they will never see me there again.

You guys already know how I feel about people taking pictures of my stuff. Mostly they do it for amusement purposes and that really ticks me off. "Oh, how come I can't take pictures," would be their reponses. Every show I have people trying it. They do not ask. As soon as I see the whip out their cameras or position their cell phones I run over to them and begain to actully yell at them to get their attention. "After you buy it, you can take all the pictures you want." These people actually get mad. How about me? And then some of them would actually say something stupid like "Oh, I was going to buy it, but now I'm not." Yah, right.
I would really appreciate if these people would be a bit more consierate and ask. Most likely I would say no. However, if it's somebody who requires 'special needs, etc' I would not hesitate to allow them.
I recall one time I saw a younger Chinese 'gentleman' walking around take pictures with his camera. He had on a shirt and tie and I had to wonder if he was either a 'tourist' or a 'spy' who is going to immediately email the pictures of a product to China and have 50,000 of them send the following week.

If you are in, them you should have heard from them. I recommend that you call them. : (925) 757-4400 They have a habit of not telling people that they have not been accepted. Give them hell!!!

I know what you mean, Dave. I have started having this problem now. It started at the Campbell Oktoberfest. I sell wrestling masks as a 2nd item, and sometimes I let people try them on, and they usually end up buying one. However, at this fest, they wanted to try them on, take pictures with their cell phone, then put it back! That started ticking me off big time! I was ready to come to blows with this big fat pig about it! He wanted to try one on, and I told him "only if you're planning to buy one." He then started acting like he was pissed about what I said. So I snapped back at him. He got real nice, but then had his wife take a photo, then put it back and left. Some other people did the same thing, but I was busy drawing caricatures so I couldn't attend to them right away. I'm now going to put up a sign that says "$3 to take picture with a mask on." Hopefully that will dissuade them. I regret not shoving that fat pig and telling him to get the hell out of my booth! If they anger me that much, I won't give it a 2nd thought to "get down & dirty" right then and there!

RE: Masks. I would put a BIG SIGN out stating "due to health concerns and the passing of germs, we can not allow you to wear the masks before purchase." Though NO WAY JOSE, might be better... Even with manufacturered items, I get people taking pictures all the time. Their main reason. "I don't know if my wife/husband/mom/brother has this one". The "interested" buyer that just wants to know where your sources are is a peeve of mine. It has taken me 3 years to track some of these obscure and small businesses, and find enough items to make that initial minimum order. The song and dance to go through licensing rights and their "rules" to sell things with licensing. I am proud to buy American whenever I can. Like I'm going to just give it away???
