Winterfest festival in Lake Havasu Feb 6 - 7, 2010 i heard that there is this show. anyone had done this show give some comment on this show. I've done this show 5-6 times over the year's and it's not too bad. Booth fees are reasonable and you get a great deal on a double-space. Should be the same weekend as the Parker show and maybe you might want to do Thur-Fri over there and then Havasu over the weekend. I've been over in Tyson that weekend the past couple years for that weekend. The Winterfest is pretty large - maybe 6 blocks and a lot of people. My sales were going down over there, so it was time to move on. I don't know how the show was this year because the economy has been so bad. If you do the show, try to get your space on the 'sun side' of the street. On that side you get the direct sun until the afternoon. There have been time's that I had on shorts and t-shirts while the people in back of me would be wearing winter attire. More wind on that side also and sometime's you are freezing. Good idea to get there early on Saturday morning because the place get's congested. I always try to be one of the early birds at all of my shows especially because crazy things can happen. One time in Clovis I arrived a little later (fog) and when I arrived at my space, I only had about 4 feet. Luckily, the other vendors were able to move their canopies over and I had my 10 feet - that was a TIGHT ten feet! A couple year's ago in Oakdale, I arrived early and was half-set up and a guy comes over and tells me that I was in HIS space. Uh uh. He showed me his paperwork and it was his space. I showed him MY paperwork and I was there first, so it was bye-bye balboni - he stormed away and was given another space. (actually a better space). In Hayward this past year, I got there and saw that the 'chalk-man' had made my space only about 8 feet wide. Fortunately, I had gotten there quite early on setup day and was able to take care of things. The person now getting squeezed was the vendor next to me and he wasn't able to fit his canopy there. So, I was able to use that extra 8 feet that HE NOW HAD and I expanded. Sorry for getting side-tracked. It's always a good thing to get to these shows early. There's a lot of behind-the-scenes hanky panky going on and I don't like being a victim of it. Gives you a better chance of resolving some of the difficulties in claiming your turf.

thank you for sharing your experience. i have never done craft show before and my first one is gem & minerial show in quartzsite and then sellarama. i am doing ok in first and do a little better in sellarama. some craft show need you to submit pictures of your booth and pictures of your products. i make ear ring, necklace, bracelet, i do know these are handcraft. but the sales on these are minimal only $30 - $40 ( Best day is $50 ) in one day show. so, there are no profit for me at all. so, i am selling the pandora style lampwork glass at $1/bead. may be in higher price craft show, i have to sell $1.5 - $2/bead. but i do not know if these beads are considered as art & crafts? these lampwork glass beads are made in china not by me. also, i read some show need you to buy $1 - $2 MILLION DOLLAR LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR THAT PREMISES. i have never done this before and i do not know how to buy 1 time liability insurance for a location. who will provide such one time insurance? any suggestions?
