Thought I'd better do an intro here.
I married my high school sweet heart & we have 5 children, ranging between 21 to 2... ;D
I was raised in Hacienda Heights Ca. and my father built bicycles for 25 years. Custom Built Beach cruisers that we sold at Costa Mesa Market Place. I grew up in the business, beginning at age 6 months!!! I've been a people watcher from then I guess you'd say.
I've been a store set and stock merchandiser for 12 years, working in the Coachella Valley for Disney, Hasbro, and UAV entertainment. (+ a few smaller ones.) My husband was a Law Enforcement officer for San Bernardino County.
After staying in Ca. and taking care of my ailing, elderly father, (no one else would do it!) he passed away in 2006, and we were LONG DISGUSTED & DONE WITH LIVING IN CALIFORNIA! WE WERE GONE!!!
We decided to try something totally different, so we bought a seasonal RV Park in ND. with the intentions of traveling and enjoying the countryside during the off season... Then the real estate economy absolutely tanked. SO, in 2007 with a newborn baby, we thought that we could go to where the snow birds go, promote the campground, pass out cards and maps, and bring in some money too. High fuel prices has been hurting the park, so we decided to go on the road occasionally and hit a few venues during our park's season as well to help.
Now, I am up to purchasing from 18 manufacturing companies, and as many quality USA made items as I can get hold of! I sell mainly collector's impulse items, like Coke, John Deere, Chevy, Betty Boop. I do have a shirt press and enjoy crafting, but with a 2 year old, not too much chance to let my mind get to that place where I am creative. (if you know what I'm talking about?)
Now that the baby is 2, I am about to see about selling in IA, ND, SD, MN, and TX. at the fairs. This economy has made it questionable to spend 1,050.00 or more per fair, but will try it once.
Glad I found a location that I can ask questions. I have ZERO intentions of hanging around in ND during the winter, and I am trying to be able to look for venues down South while the winter does it's thing in ND. (Just can't even fathom -50!)
If anyone is ever in the MN corner of ND, 75 miles from Fargo please look me up. We have a small park but would love to get to meet you in person.
