i decide to go to Colorado Springs. there are a few reasons, i am too green to be in county fair or big shows which need nearly 1 year ahead of booking. there are too many shows to choose and i do not which one is good and which one is not good for me or my products. the farmer market give me exclusive to sell sunglass and i am very close to exclusive on my handmade jewelry as i use lampwork glass bead which very few crafters use them because of high components prices. i can try to go to Denver area in case Colorado Springs do not work out.
i will post some information about the markets there.
thank you for all your input!

Yes, please let me know too. I come in from the East and wouldn't mind doing shows on my way in to the West Coast. I will be glad to give you my reviews of the areas I am working!

The farmer markets near Colorado Springs Area are only daily show. since there are many residents and tourists there so there are a few farmer market within 1 hour driving distance almost every day. they are a little better than the flea market, there are no used products sold there. The host i know she is a little picky in her choice of products, and display, i am still not up to her standard in my display yet but she like my jewelries. she bought one of my jewelry when i sell there. she give me some time to improve my display so that i can be up to her standard. to sell in farmer markets are a lot easier, you do not need a local liscence, no insurance, no paper work, ....., you just show up there and then they come and collect their rent $20 a day by noon time when you should have made some money from the show already. you do not have to prepay. if it rain, they call you and then you do not have to go and you do not have to pay. it is safer for me this way and there are only verbal contract. worse come to worse, if my products cannot sell there, i can still go to flea market to get rid of them cheaper and then go home ?

I'll be interested to know how it works for you too, suktexas. A good friend has moved to Denver and I've been looking for a way to visit! Maybe also to come home via that way from my Mermaid Tour to ND... good luck!

i have been done about 3 weeks farmer markets only. in Colorado Springs, there are no indoor flea market like California. they do have little shows, but i do not apply for any shows. they do have flea markets, but the flea markets are 80% mexician who very few appreciate crafts.
most market they charge the farmer and food related higher than the crafters as the farmer or food business are very good like 3 times or more than a crafters sales.
i do 4 farmer markets in a week, for good market, i make $100 - $150 net ( after booth rent, gas, cost of merchandises ), for not so good market, i make $40 - $80 net. i have 2 bad days which i only make $25 net.
i have seen other high end crafters doing good and some high end crafters doing not too good in different farmer markets. i only observe on the side, and i am not 100% sure about their profit on their business.
i have been doing these crafts jewelry for 1 year, and i have been done farmer market only 3 times in my life. my display is not too good yet. because my crafts are more gear for regular population than the high end market, so, i cannot enter the real high end arts and crafts farmer market. also, i am trying things out, so i do not wish to buy liability insurance and get my resell liscense yet, so, i have limited myself to certain farmer markets who pay my retails sale tax for me using their resell liscense.
Colorado Springs area summer has a lot of rain but they rain only after 3pm, so, near the end of the market when there are much wind coming over, we will close early. but day time no rain only afternoon time or evening time rain, hail, or thunderstorm.
in next month, i am going to try sunday, 1 day the Colorado Springs flea market and see what happen? i will keep you posted.

some addition, during the whole summer month, like mid Jun - Early Oct, there are everyday farmer markets everywhere within the area, within 1 hour driving distances, you can do 7 days farmer markets, but some farmer markets only take food related products and some farmer markets do take crafters.
