It's back to the Zucchini again. Going up against the Art and Soul Festival that weekend. Took a hard hit last year when they changed that show from Labor Day because of Bay Bridge construction. Gosh, if I had any brains, I'd head on over there, but a lot of the vendor's there (Oakland) told me it wasn't very good. Lots of people, but not buying.
The Zucchini is local for me; 2 miles. Biggest problem is that it ends at 7:30pm on Sunday and the park has no lights. Sooner or later a car is going to run into somebody in the park because it's too hard to see. The show has been going downhill over the year's and they have the same music year after year. They had big-name entertainer's over the year's but have reduced their budget. Mainly a festival where the people drink a lot and you have the local riff-raffs out there.
A couple year's ago they lost a lot of vendor's; perhaps 70-80 but appeared to have recouped a bunch of them last year.

Was at the Zucchini Festival this weekend for perhaps the 10th time. Weather overcast much of Saturday and sunny and mild on Sunday. Sales were not up to par for me and just about all the other vendors. The food area was kicking butt and there were long lines of 10-20 people at most of them. Many of the people congregated in that area eating and watching the entertainment, which really isn't worth mentioning. I have finished my review of the show and there are several interesting stories there along with some photos. Somewhat long. www.starvingvendors.com/events_Hayward_Zucchini_Festival_2010.html
