My event will be the "Gold Country Peddler's Faire"....this year it is being held on May 1st...it is a Sunday and will run from 8am-4pm, the space fee for a 10x10 is $55 and a 10x20 is $90.....space fee is $20 more if paid less than 45 days prior to event.
it will be held in the historic town of "Knights Ferry" Ca. ....all arts and crafts must be handmade and no imported items are allowed.
This is an annual event, and is being put on by the Knights Ferry History & Museum Associates and I have heard they do a good job.
Knights Ferry is located 12 miles east of Oakdale, Ca along state highway 108-120....it is a nice little area with a star attraction of one of the few remaining Covered Bridges left in this state....I have added a nice pic of that bridge...enjoy!
I work in this area quite often while on the job....and know many locals....so I am looking forward to being there

Walkersstics, that sounds like a lovely time, and priced right! I just had to rack my brain as to where I saw a nice message from you on my travels... etsy! Thanks for the hello :-) If you ever want to come this far north, I think you would do fine here... lots of hikers and art lovers. I know there's one other walking stick guy, but I've only seen him around at Xmas. Let me know and I'll fill you in on what's happening up here.
I have 3 shows lined up for May:
Mother's Day weekend I'm doing the Art In Bloom festival in Medford, OR. My first time there and I'm not totally optimistic... but given my options I have to try it. It's a fine arts and garden show downtown. We shall see.
The weekend after that May 14-15 I'm doing a new local festival here in Arcata that's put on by an art group and gallery. It's only the 2nd year, but it takes place on HSU's graduation weekend which brings many folks from the cities. They are doing a lot with promotion and working with venues in town to make it a big deal. A little spendy for year 2 at $200, imo... but no travel. And I usually do very well at anything in Arcata.
Then on Memorial weekend... last wkend in May, we're going back to our old favorite down on Clear Lake. A little craft fair in Lakeport. Not usually gangbusters in sales. But I haven't found anything better money wise, and we have a really nice time there. It's relatively close, only 3 hrs away. Free camping right on the lake, we can bring our dog, pancake breakfast delivered to your booth by 4h kids, margaritas in walking distance, vendor friends to visit with. It's like a paid vacation. I don't expect wonders in sales with gas up again, the campers won't be out like they should be....
That's may for me! I hope we all do well this month, good luck!

Every time I mention 'The Ceres Street Faire' people ask me where it's at. Located just south of Modesto along the '99'. Not a lot of money out there, but I've been doing the show for 18 years, can you believe it? Used to do great out there, but sales have dwindled down over the years. Last year? Had to deal with 30-40 mph winds and parked my van next to my canopy to block the wind. My canopy was rocking all over the place. Many vendors removed the tops of their canopies. We've had rain over the years too. The people do come out, empty pockets or not.

Hello Dave, we did a lot better than expected....we arrived at 6:30 AM during the time most vendors were setting up, not the best time to get there that is for sure....the event started at 8AM and at first our sales were very slow....typical for a Sunday Event....at around 10AM things began to heat up....and sales began to flow very well
We were set up between a Kettle corn fella, and another vendor of dipping oils and marinades.....being at this festival there was not many food vendors, although the odd fellows had their first Sunday of the month Breakfast event.....by mid day the kettle corn fella was bringing them in, big time....and being next to him was surely a plus.
My fellow vendors at this event, I would have to say were the most friendly we have ever encountered yet....very good company indeed
The Sun was shining and the temp was just perfect, I am not sure of the count in terms of turnout.....but we made a very nice profit (Three times what were thinking before the event) and would certainly do this one again next year.
The marinade vendor has been there many times, and they said the vendor count was way down, normally there were a lot more vendors....I cannot verify that for this was the first time we have been there......
Be aware we were set up on the asphalt, but there were alot of vendors that had to set up on the old covered bridge road which is a dirt lane.....I was very happy to be on the tar matt.

Dave, I have that Saturday off, and we might swing by and say hello....Ceres is very close to us.....and maybe we'll do this event in 2012....I have a friend whose wife works for the city,,I woulda tried to make this event this year, but did not have both days off.

What's everybody doing this holiday weekend? For the first time in many years we are staying home on Memorial Day Weekend. Last year it was the Concord Kidfest, which was horrible. Over the year's, we have done Arroyo Grande (Strawberry Festival), Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardis Gras and Oakhurst (now defunct).
Hope somebody makes some $$$$$.

Arts and Crafts Show at the 'Y' in South Lake Tahoe. Just checked the weather reports and saw that they are supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow today and rain/snow tomorrow. Wow.
A few years ago, my wife and I did this show and the same thing happened. That weather can get wicked in May. Anybody doing this show?
